State of the art infrastructure

In order to achieve high quality and cost competitiveness we have chosen the best equipment in the industry, but to ensure the best results we have also developed auxiliary equipment in collaboration with process consultants.

We have state-of-the-art thermoforming and extrusion equipment - Recycling equipment in order to utilize and preserve the quality of the plastic scrap that is produced in-house during production. We also have equipment for the construction and maintenance of molds and machinery.

All production areas are designed to provide an efficient and above all safe work environment.

Sheet extrusion

Quality Thermoformed packaging begins with high quality "sheet".

Pal Packaging uses sheet extrusion systems from renowned European and US suppliers combining high extrusion capacity and advanced filtration systems technology complete with on-line thickness control systems. All of Pal Packaging’s extrusion capacity is capable of processing various material blends with minimal variations in output quality.

Gravimetric dosing of the various raw materials provides extreme accuracy in our recipes and computer monitoring ensures conformance to exacting standards and process controls. Pal Packaging's material handling systems have the ability to provide 100% traceability from pellet to sheet.

Thermoforming

Pal Packaging is committed to making cost-effective, high-quality packaging.

Pal Packaging's state-of-the-art thermoformers provide high output and high tonnage with fast, powerful and precise servo drives whose rotary action creates more power than conventional straight-action hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Our advanced thermoformers are controlled through the latest Siemens Process Control Systems, which provide machine and motion control as well as precise and consistent repeatability and continuous diagnostics.

Pal Packaging incorporates interchangeable tooling systems and quick-change technology to provide our customers with products when they need them.

Lamination

Pal Packaging supplies several products which are produced from multi-layer sheets.

These products combine technical characteristics of more than one polymer and can perform better than any single polymer. These performance advantages are mainly:

a) improved sealability with sealing films or

b) improved oxygen barrier properties for use in MAP applications.

We use a technique called lamination to join specialty films on our extruded sheet. The process involves joining two or more films or sheets by using heat and pressure.

Our modern lamination equipment ensures stable bond strengths between the layers of the laminate structure minimizing the risk of delamination.

Recycling

Pal Packaging constantly aims to be efficient by reducing rejects during production.

All off spec materials produced in our plants are recycled internally and repelletized so that valuable resources are saved and our carbon footprint is reduced. These materials are firstly separated by polymer type and color and then dry ground. Pal Packaging runs state of the art vented recycling extruders to improve the recycled material quality and minimize energy consumption.

The 100% food grade and EFSA and FDA approved materials are then stored in silos and used in the production of new packaging products. Traceability is maintained at all the aforementioned stages.
